About physical therapists

Physical therapy is widely used for low back and neck pain, sciatica, recovery after spine surgery, and posture- or work-related strain. A therapist assesses how you move, then guides a progressive exercise programme, often with hands-on techniques and advice on activity and ergonomics. Many US states allow you to see a PT directly, though some insurers still ask for a referral.
